"We recently had Foundation Recovery Systems out to fix our foundation. I wanted to express how impressed we were with the whole process. We had a few bids, one in which the company stated they would need almost three weeks to to finish the work. Not only did Foundation Recovery Systems fix our issue but they did it in a day and a half at almost half the price of the other bids we had received. I want to make sure that the gentlemen who did the work get the recognition they deserve as well because they were all phenomenal. The inspector who came to visit us was Hunter Herbst. I explained to him what we were needing, told him of the other bids and the proposals we had received. He did not try to up sell me, was not pushy in any way and put together a plan that best fit what we needed. The three gentlemen who came out to do this back breaking work were Greg Harvey, Dillon Sults-Evans and Josh Cummings. All three were highly professional. They worked fast and efficient and when they left, beyond the work they completed, you couldn't even tell they were there. Our basement was spotless. They also have pretty good taste in music as well. I could not recommend this company higher, if you are needing foundation repair make sure to reach out to them."

Common Causes of your Crawl Space Problems in Troy

Experiencing issues with your crawl space can often feel like an unwelcome surprise, but understanding the causes can help you manage them. In Troy, Missouri, our homes are subject to environmental forces that significantly impact crawl spaces. The region's rich clay soil reacts with seasonal moisture changes, expanding and contracting over time. This dynamic leads to soil movement, which can affect the stability of your home's structure. Additionally, varying rainfall and temperature fluctuations contribute to moisture buildup beneath homes, creating conditions that favor mold growth and wood rot in unprotected crawl spaces.

These environmental factors can stress your crawl space, causing noticeable problems in many homes locally. Warning signs include a musty odor, pooling water, sagging floors above, and even elevated humidity levels indoors. Addressing these issues early can significantly reduce the risk of more extensive damage to your home's foundation and overall integrity. Moisture trapped in a crawl space can lead to serious structural issues if not managed properly, which is why proactive solutions such as encapsulation are essential in providing a dry and stable environment. Keeping an eye out for these signs can help ensure that your home remains in good condition, preventing the potential for costly repairs down the line.

A crawl space can be damp or musty due to inadequate moisture control and poor ventilation. Moisture intrusion from the ground, humidity, or leaking pipes can lead to these conditions. Installing a vapor barrier as part of encapsulation can mitigate this issue, along with a dehumidifier to maintain dry air.
