Foundation Recovery Systems Partners with Habitat for Humanity for a Second Year

This year, the team at Foundation Recovery Systems (FRS) partnered with Habitat for Humanity. As part of the companywide Build Together 2024 initiative, employees assisted in home builds for members of the local communities.

FRS’s parent company, Groundworks, donated $100,000 Habitat for Humanity affiliates across the country to support long-term stability through safe and affordable housing. Part of the Goodworks by Groundworks program, this partnership gives 5,000 employees the chance to volunteer in 63 communities throughout the year.

Decatur

FRS employees in Decatur volunteered their time on July 11 with the Decatur Area Habitat for Humanity. Five FRS team members spent the day at an existing home tackling a list of tasks that included removing dry wall and other debris around the home to prepare it for renovation. Their efforts were featured on WAND (NBC) Decatur.

Kansas City

Our Kansas City team members and Groundworks Supply Chain team members teamed up with Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City to work on two separate home builds in the area. Seven volunteers came together to install windows and paint the exterior at two homes that will be dedicated to deserving members of the KC community later this year.

Both groups were happy to be working together and getting their hands dirty for a worthy cause.

Springfield

Habitat for Humanity of Springfield, Missouri hosted FRS teammates at a build site on May 3. Volunteers caulked around windows and doors, installed drywall, and helped install siding on the front porch. Habitat was grateful for everyone’s help.

“[FRS] was fantastic to work with! They worked in two shifts to help with a new construction project for a single mom of five children still at home. They were patient with getting the beams wrapped in metal, and a great help putting up soffit. They cleaned the interior of the house and got all the gaps caulked and blocked air flow from coming in the house, which is very important! They were a great help, and we’re looking forward to them coming out and helping us again! Volunteers from [FRS] help create an affordable, high-quality and energy-efficient home for our partner homebuyers to prepare to purchase and live in as their forever home,” Nancy Williams, Program Manager.
