What is the Difference Between Our Carbon Fiber Wall Straps and the SettleStop IntelliBrace™ System?
An astute homeowner will want to look into all the foundation repair options that any company has to offer. An expert from Foundation Recovery Systems might recommend our carbon fiber wall straps or our SettleStop IntelliBrace™ I-beam system. Both systems seem to perform the same function of bracing your foundation walls against the pressure from moisture threatening to bow them inward. The main difference between the two lies in how much bowing they can push back against.
Carbon fiber wall straps may not seem all that strong, but they are capable of pushing back against moisture damage with ease. Indeed, carbon fiber is one of the strongest man-made materials out there. It is at least 10 times stronger than steel, and when these straps are attached to your foundation walls with our epoxy resin, they are made even tougher. These straps will be able to push back against damage that bows your foundation walls less than two inches inward. This might sound small, but you should definitely be able to notice your walls bowing in at even this level.
Our SettlleStop IntelliBrace™ I-beam system works slightly differently from our carbon fiber wall straps. These galvanized steel I-beams will be able to push back against damage that has bowed your foundation wall more than two inches. It is attached to your foundation walls via adjustable screws at the top of each brace. These braces will need to be slowly tightened over time to push back against any harsh bowing damage you will see.
