What Do Your Testers Consider A Disadvantage?

There are some qualities that make a sump pump unqualified to install in a home. These qualities can include:

Poor Reliability

As mentioned above, sump pumps need to work reliably if they’re going to protect a person’s home. This means that they need to drive water out without failing on a regular basis. If a sump pump is not able to do this—due to some manner of damage that it takes after its first run or due to the way it was made—it should not be considered a usable home waterproofing method.

Foundation Recovery Systems will not recommend the use of sump pumps that fail to meet their advertised capacity level, that do not come with acceptable warranties or service guarantees, or that appear to stop working after a set number of uses (otherwise known as “planned obsolescence”). While the team attending to your home will note these products, should you wish to ask about them, the team will also recommend affordable and effective alternatives that can provide more consistent services for your home.

Short Lifespan and General Inconvenience

There is a significant amount of overlap between the “reliability” and “lifespan” categories by which Foundation Recovery Systems judges its potential installations. However, where reliability reflects on a system’s ability to function under pressure, lifespan addresses the system’s make. All sump pumps recommended by Foundation Recovery Systems must survive for more than a year at least to receive a recommendation. Any that fail sooner than that, either due to shoddy make or some other defect, will be noted at a homeowner’s request but not recommended.

Such is also the case for sump pumps that seem to negatively impact a person’s overall quality of life. Noisy sump pumps, for example, may be effective and may live for a good long while, but they can be irritating to listen to as they work. While, again, a Foundation Recovery Systems team will note noisier systems upon a homeowner’s request, the team will instead put forward sump pump options that encapsulate the company’s overall goals: to provide you and homeowners like you with the waterproofing measures you need to protect your home for an extended period of time without decreasing your overall quality of life.
