How Can You Tell if Your Concrete is Uneven?

Uneven concrete is normally quite easy for the average Lee’s Summit homeowner to spot. Any slabs that sink into the soil more than others or those with cracks along their surface are definite signs of concrete damage. This damage does more than ruin your curb appeal or act as an annoying tripping hazard, though. Concrete damage can often indicate that your foundation is damaged as well or, at least, on the brink of it. It is fairly easy for concrete damage to trail down to your foundation and vice versa. The foundation is one of the most crucial structures in your entire home. Should it become damaged, many other structures around your home will start to have problems, too.

Sometimes concrete settling can be subtle. Some homeowners might not even notice their concrete is even damaged until it is too late. Fortunately, there is one simple way to tell if your concrete is truly uneven or not. You will have to wait for rain to pass over your home first but considering there are mostly rainy days during springtime in Lee’s summit, it should not be hard. Puddles will form along both even and uneven concrete. However, these puddles should eventually drain away within a couple of days after the storm has passed on even concrete. If you see any pools of water lingering after the rain has passed, then it is possible that your concrete has become uneven.

It is then you should call the concrete experts at Foundation Recovery Systems. Our experts will be able to pinpoint the true cause of this damage, quickly repair it, and brace it against any moisture damage that it may face in the future. Setting up an appointment with us also is very easy!
