Does My Home Need Push Piers?
There are a number of things that can cause a property to become unstable and create the need for push piers. The most common by far, however, are these:
- Saturated Soil
Extreme soil saturation as a result of flooding or extreme weather can destabilize a property and lead to sinking. Once this occurs, push piers are one of the best available solutions.
- Dehydrated Soil
Excessively dehydrated soil shrinks and can leave sections of a property unsupported. This can lead to an issue called settlement or cause soil erosion that destabilizes a property. Push piers can reposition and support a foundation that is damaged in this way.
- Unsuitable Strata
If the foundation of a property is poorly calculated or placed on unsuitable ground, push piers will redistribute the weight to a more capable style.
