What Does Wet Insulation Look Like?

Wet insulation is easy to identify in your crawl space. First of all, if you notice glistening condensation on the surface of your insulation, that is a clear indication that it is wet. Look for water that might be dripping from the insulation as well. Moreover, wet insulation becomes much heavier, and may begin to sag from where it was originally installed. If you notice drooping sections of insulation, or insulation that is on the ground of your crawl space, it is likely wet. Additionally, you could look for mold growth on or around your insulation, as this indicates moisture is present in the area and poses a health risk to your entire home.
