Homeowners from Nixa, Missouri had noticed cracks in their drywall, the bathroom floor dropping away from door frames and doors with gaps. The single story home had a crawl space foundation and wanted to permanently stabilize the sagging floors throughout the entire home and also wanted to lift and level the home with IntelliJacks for a peace of mind and to protect their investment. To transfer the load off the existing concrete piers, Foundation Recovery Systems installed thirty-two 5ft IntelliJacks so that the lift could be processed.
IntelliJacks are steel support systems used to stabilize and level the girders and floor joists in the crawl space. A cube of soil was excavated at each IntelliJacks location and the hole was filled with an engineered fill that consisted of tightly-compacted crushed stone. A custom-designed structural footing was set into place and leveled on top of the engineered fill. High strength, galvanized steel columns were cut to the appropriate height for the crawl space and once the steel column and components were assembled, they were connected to the girder and the IntelliJacks were tightened into place. The girder and floor joists were immediately stabilized and lifted the above floor back to being completely level. FRS was able to get everything in the house mostly level but had a few spots within 1/8 of an inch. Each IntelliJack has an allowable load capacity of more than 24,000 pounds and has a zinc-plated structural steel girder to ensure the system will never be susceptible to mold, moisture, and wood rot.
