Crawlspace Encapsulation completed in Independence, MO

A home in Independence, Missouri was having water issues in their 1950s home. During moderate rains, a fairly significant amount of water would run across the basement floor and the homeowner was also concerned with the humidity and mold levels. The Foundation Recovery Systems inspection revealed that groundwater appeared to be soaking through and below the rear and side crawl space foundation wall and into the crawl space area. This then allowed water to pass through into the basement area. The neighbor had no gutter attached to the home which allowed large amounts of water to be directed right to the homeowner\'s foundation.
Foundation Recovery Systems installed 87 feet of Sub-Floor along the interior perimeter of the basement area, minus the crawl space area that creates a warm floor surface with the interlocking waterproofing tiles and also forms a vapor barrier on the basement floor. On the inside door threshold, four feet of drainage system was installed to prevent water from flooding from an outer entryway and will direct the water to the sump pump that has three levels of protection (primary pump, secondary pump, and battery back-up system). The discharge would go out into the front yard via the Lawn Scape attached to the end of the downspout. FRS also encapsulated the crawl space area with the drainage matting that rests directly on the crawl space floor and the raised dimples will give the water flooding the crawl space a channel underneath the liner and direct it to the sump pump. Liner was also hung to hold back water vapor passing through the foundation wall and directs it to the sump pump. A dehumidifier was also installed to control the humidity in the area. The homeowner was super happy with the final installments and that she now has extra storage room.
