Polyurethane injection lifts concrete slabs in Greenwood, MO

Polyurethane injection lifts concrete slabs in Greenwood, MO

Challenge

Sinking concrete can be caused by interior floor slabs, patios & pool decks, driveways, stoops & porches, sidewalks, and additions. But no matter what causes the concrete to sink, it needs to be fixed because if not the sunken slab will get worse, the resale value of the house will decrease, the appearance of the house will not be attracting, there will be no safety within the house, water could come into the house maybe even causing water to pool and other structural damages could take place.

A driveway and sidewalk area at a home in Greenwood, Missouri had dropped on a rental property concerning the homeowner. After calling and scheduling an estimate, Foundation Recovery Systems went out to the house to perform an interior and exterior inspection. FRS found the driveway had dropped approximately seven inches along the garage opening while the sidewalk leading to the back patio had tipped one direction up to three inches. Both of these areas need to be lifted, leveled and stabilized.

Solution

FRS recommended the PolyRenewal™  System because it uses less holes, is light weight, has a quick cure time, the material is waterproof, has a high capacity lifting strength, reduces trip hazards, and is environmentally friendly. A pattern of 5/8 inch holes (smaller than a penny) were first drilled through the sunken slab. After the holes were drilled, a specially designed equipment was used to inject the structural grader polymers into the void. Once the void was filled, the polyurethane expanded underneath which allowed for a precise lift and stabilization of the concrete slab. Foundation Recovery Systems was able to lift and level the areas of concern back to their original position, eliminating trip hazards. And providing the home with a safe environment.
